Another observation...
As a lot of you know, when you beat Larn, the next time you play, you're at a higher difficulty. In my UNIX Larn, I had beaten up to difficulty 9 using the "Volcano Lottery" strategy. I decided to "keep it fun" by playing a lower difficulty (Difficulty 3) and still trying to beat Diff 9 once in a while. One thing I just noticed, is that playing Difficulty 3 a bunch of times has lowered my Diff level to 4. So if I just type in Larn (with no -3 or -8 or whatever) it plays in difficulty 4. Maybe you only have so many tries before you lose a difficulty. Sure seems that way.

I'm having difficulty finding a good DOS copy of Larn that doesn't add too many new features (I want to play the base game first) and that I can successfully decompress. I don't suppose you could make available an archive copy of the game?
I haven't been able to find the old dos port either. the UNIX version is embedded in FreeBSD, so it's possible you could set up UNIX on a machine and install FreeBSD and play Larn, but I'm not quite sure how to do that. Larn is one of the reasons I keep my old telnet account with the ISP I've had since 1992. :)
It is a very hard situation when playing the lottery and never won, or keep winning low fund not up to 100 bucks, i have been a victim of such a tough life, the biggest fund i have ever won was 100 bucks, and i have been playing lottery for almost 12 years now, things suddenly change the moment i came across a secret online, a testimony of a spell caster called DR EMU, who help people in any type of lottery numbers, i was not easily convinced, but i decided to give try, now i am a proud lottery winner with the help of DR EMU, i won $1,000.0000.00 and i am making this known to every one out there who have been trying all day to win the lottery, believe me this is the only way to win the lottery.
